On Skid Row, shy florist Seymour Krelborn discovers a mysterious plant he names Audrey II after his crush, Audrey. The strange plant brings fame and fortune to the failing flower shop, but it has a sinister secret: it feeds on human blood. As Audrey II grows, Seymour is driven to commit murder to keep it alive, hoping to win Audrey’s love. Ultimately, Seymour realizes the plant’s plan for world domination, but his attempts to destroy it come too late, and the monstrous Audrey II triumphs.
